• There is no catechesis on Wednesday October 5 and Sunday October 9

• Registration will include a late fee until October 7 when registration closes.

• Religious education classes for high school students are closed due to full capacity. 

• ALL STUDENTS IN THE PROGRAM MUST ATTEND HOLY MASS EVERY SUNDAY AND DAYS OF OBLIGATION.

• Communion and Confirmation pictures from May 2022  are avaiable for pick up.

Registration is now open for the year 2022-2023! I am available to take applications on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 10am to 4pm. Please come with all documents and fees for your application to be completely submitted. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Greetings parents,

It is with great joy that I begin the year as the new coordinator of religious education here at St. Lucy. I look forward to working together with you all in guiding your children in their journey of faith.
Classes begin the last week of September. All Communion classes begin Sunday September 25th at 10:15a.m. All Confirmation classes and RCIA-T (high schoolers) begin Wednesday September 28th at 6:30p.m. We will have parent-information sessions at those times. Books, mass cards, and calendar for the year will be provided as well. You will have time to meet with your child’s catechist that same day and speak to them if you have any important information to share with them or if they have any information to share with you.
This year we will have MANDATORY parent sessions that will take place at the same time as your child, once a month. Plan accordingly.
If you are missing documents, please bring a copy with you.

Registration Fees:

Sacramental Fees (due in March 2023)

• Girls wear white dresses (of any length) with sleeves (absolutely no sleeveless) and white socks or tights. They also wear veils or flower/baby's breath wreaths in their hair. They don't wear gloves for mass.
•  Boys wear sports coats and dress pants or suits of any color. They wear white shirts. They wear dress shoes. They also wear ties of any color. Children will be sitting in the first few pews.
•  No pictures or videotaping will be allowed during the Mass.
•  A professional photographer will be in the church during the Mass to take a picture of your child (all children’s pictures will be taken when they receive their First Eucharist) and in the Cafeteria after the Mass to take portraits of your child if you wish for a fee.
• In addition, the priests will be available for pictures after the Mass

• All students should have selected a Saint’s name; this will be their Confirmation name.
• Students should wear Sunday church attire under their Confirmation gowns.
• Sponsors for Confirmation must have already completed and submitted a Sponsor Form.
• Only one sponsor will sit with the student during the Mass.

Please be sure to send in the $100 sacramental preparation fee and ensure that we have a copy of your child’s baptismal and communion certificates on record in our parish office.

Baptism Guidelines

1. How old is the child? If the child is older than 6 years old, they need to go to the School of Religion.
2. Where does the family live? If the family lives outside the parish, they need permission of the parish in their territory.
3. Who are the godparents?
   1. A godparent must :
      1. be at least 16 years old.
      2. be a practicing Catholic – going to church, receiving Holy Communion, etc.
      3. have received First Holy Communion and Confirmation.
   2. A godparent is asked to get certification from his / her current parish. This is a declaration by a priest / deacon that the individual is qualified to be a godparent according to Church law, and must be known by the priest / deacon as being a faithful practicing Catholic, attending Mass, at their current parish regularly.
   3. If one of the godparents is living with someone, as husband and wife, they must be married in the Catholic Church; we need a copy of the marriage certificate.
   4. If one of the godparents is living with someone, without being married in the Catholic Church, he or she is not eligible to become a godparent.
   5.  If one of the god parents has been married and separated, but not remarried and living alone, he or she CAN become a godparent, always providing a statement from a priest where they reside.
   6.  We are not going to make any arrangements for Baptisms, if the parents do not provide the godparents’ certification signed and sealed by the Catholic priest / deacon where they belong.
   7. If any family cannot have a godparent fulfilling all the above requirements, we, in our parish, have wonderful members in our parish who are willing to become a
   8. godparent and assist the parents in their duty to raise their children.

Confirmation Guidelines for Godparents
